Great Aunty Three - Enmore

Yeay.. this is The Nomnom's first post in 2015!
Last month was a super busy one for us as we're moving to a new place, decorating and settling in, joining Christmas and NYE parties and so on and so on.. *Let's just assume those are my excuses for not posting anything during December* =D

Last weekend, for some reason, I felt like having something soup-y and I remembered this small-but-great place serving Vietnamese street food. Great Aunty Three is located along Enmore Road and it's hard to miss it as you can see those tiny red seats out front.

As you enter, you can see their menu written on the blackboard offering those Vietnamese classic such as Bahn Mi  (Vietnamese Bread Roll), Pho Noodle Soup, Vermicelli Sallad and Goi Cuon (Rice Paper Roll).

As we queued, we couldn't leave our eyes from their Bahn Mi Station. All of their breads and pate are made in house and we can choose either white or brown rolls (This is Mrs. Nomnom's favorite part.. WOOHOO!)

We tried the recommended filling of slow cooked caramelised pork belly in coconut juice with an extra pork crackling (there is no processed meat here =)).

When you hear "slow-cook", you know precisely the meat flesh is gonna be soft and juicy where all the flavour's soaked through. The generous filling of pork and greens with the sunflower seeds and pork crackling is highly recommended!

You can't miss this coconut and lime fruit shake $6 or for $10 as part of the combo deal if you buy the Banh Mi as well.

As we're trying to figure out what's the combination of this shake, Michael, the owner approached us and told us they're blending the coconut meat, coconut water, coconut cream and lime to create this refreshing and light drink!

This drink has been included in Mr. Nomnom's best drink as he couldn't stop sipping it.. LOL!

Mr. Nomnom and I tried a few of the rice paper rolls, we chose the duck, prawn and tofu. I came to like the duck one as it's rich and saucy but as for the 2 others, in my opinion, I felt like they're missing something and taste quite bland.

The one Mrs. Nomnom's been waiting for is the Beef Noodle Soup (Pho)! It's a good pho with plenty of herbs and flavors in it. The broth had a slight sweetness compared to other Pho we've eaten before and more in the fragrance.

In overall, we like this place and looking forward to come back and try their Vermicelli Salad for sure =)
