Yap! As much as I love to please my eyes and stuff my tummy with all the decadent foods we often see.. Sometimes all I really want is a healthy (and also yummy) meal especially during this winter season.. The colder it gets, the more I crave for comfort foods!
Healthy foods are not limited to mere salad bowls or raw fruits and not having desserts at all.. There is no need to eat bland and boring dishes since there are so many healthy eateries nowadays..
So, we've gathered the 12 best healthy eats in Sydney and here's what we've got for you..
1. Earth to Table, Bondi Junction
Earth to Table's created by Julie Mitsios, an Australia's leading raw food chef in 2012 and mainly serves organic raw vegan food.. Everything on the menu is gluten free, sugar free, dairy free and paleo-friendly.
(Think of paleo as an effort to eat like a caveman used to hunt or find back in the day.. This means they use organic produce from local growers and prepare all the ingredients from scratch to be used in the dishes)
They have a quite extensive menu with some daily specials to choose from.. This one is their Green Superfood Bowl topped with fresh fruits and Greenola (Spirulina mixed with Buckwheat Granola and seeds).. This super-bowl is definitely nutrient-packed, filling and absolutely delicious!
Try their Alfredo Pasta if you feel like something solid for your lunch (available from 11.30am).. A fettuccine made from zucchini is well dressed in a fine creamy cashew based sauce and served with some wilted spinach, peas and mushrooms.
Tips: check their daily specials and don't forget to save some space for their awesome raw cakes from the dessert cabinet.

Sadhana started as a pop-up store but they have a permanent store on Enmore Road now.. Their menu is seasonal and everything is prepared at temperature below 40 degree Celsius and definitely plant-based.
I tried their Not-ella Crepes.. It's banana and flax seed crepe served with their house-made not-ella spread, berry cream, fresh banana, berry compote, coconut yoghurt and chocolate fudge sauce..
Tips: Their Zucchini Lasagna is a must try if you don't feel like something sweet.

3. Bread and Circus, Alexandria
Tucked inside a spacious industrial warehouse, Bread and Circus stands out with their feminine colours and rustic canteen style.. Their menu changes daily based entirely on which fresh ingredients they have and they also offer an all-day breakfast menu on weekends..
Their Foxy Winter Porridge is a must try if you prefer a creamy oat porridge in the morning.. Served with syrup baked pears, crunchy granola, lots of hazelnuts and a dollop of organic clotted cream (optional), this comforting bowl will surely leave you with a big smile.. You can opt for their Six Hour Organic Chicken Brown Rice Congee if you feel like having a savoury porridge.. This soothing, warm and tasty bowl is served with wedges of sourdough and butter.
You also can't miss their Sandwich Boxes if you are looking for a lighter meal.. They have varied options to choose from and let you assemble the ingredients yourself..
Ps: I'd suggest you to pair your breakfast bowl with Preston, they steam a dark Callebaut chocolate with earl grey milk and served it with a piece of dark Belgian chocolate

It's quite interesting when you read a butcher sign but you don't see any meat inside the shop.. Suzy Spoon's Vegetarian Butcher is Australia's first and only vegan butcher where you can buy their own brand of handmade vegan sausages, burger patties, schnitzels, smoky rasher bacon and bolognese or eat it the form of delicious meals from their deli cafe..
I tried their Spoon Burger, made with Spoon's own rosemary and garlic patty, onion, tomato, beetroot, lettuce and their own homemade tomato sauce and mayo.. It tasted saucy good and had that texture that aligns with the idea of a patty..

7. Superfood Sushi, Newtown
Superfood Sushi has finally opened its door as a first Vegan Sushi Cafe in Sydney.. I could say it's a new approach for eating sushi with healthier alternative and definitely cruelty-free..
I tried their Mango Chick Sushi Rolls.. They use Forbidden green organic rice as the base with asparagus, red capsicum, cucumber and rocket with mango chilli hummus sauce on top.. This roll came prettily and each bite was fresh and definitely tasty!
They also offer sushi in pieces if 8-pieces sushi rolls are too much for you.. I ordered one of their Gunkan style sushi and it's called Magic Mushroom Soy.. Forbidden black rice's wrapped with Turmeric soy wrap and topped with marinated Portobello and Shiitake mushrooms.. It had a strong salty and sour taste from the garlic and plum vinegar but went well with the succulent mushrooms..
