Blaq Piq - CBD

Blaq Piq has just recently opened but it has already been creating a buzz on social media lately. At first I thought they would open as a BBQ place with its name sounds like a black pig (plus their cute pig tail logo), but they turn out serving Asian-fusion brunch!

  

Situated next to Cre Asion on Alberta St, this place is quite spacious with the usual minimalist wood furniture and plenty of natural light. They also have couple of tables if you prefer to sit outdoor.

This pretty looking dish is showing up everywhere in my social media news feed and there is no way me and Annachaannn would miss it! We've been eyeing this Pandan Buttermilk Pancakes and yes love at first sight is real in this case!

Pancakes are light and they get quite soft after soaking up the coconut ice cream and salted coconut sugar syrup. Garnished with fresh slices of mango, strawberry, blueberry, nata de coco and pecan crumble, this dish is just perfect for the upcoming summer with the combination of pandan unique taste and coconut's refreshing taste.

I'd say this Wagyu Corned Beef is their extraordinary way of presenting Asian-fusion style of egg benedict. The corned beef actually looks and smells somewhat like ham, but with a beefy texture. It was tender and deliciously served with pan-fried 63 degree eggs and watercress on fluffy steamed lotus buns.

Pork Belly has a lovely texture and is delicious especially when cooked slowly. Blaq Piq's Twice Cooked Pork Belly doesn't have crispy skin but we still enjoy the layers of fat tender meat with the pumpkin puree, perfectly poached 63 degree egg, crisp and tangy pickled vegetables, fresh rocket and cherry tomatoes.
