Kansas City Shuffle - CBD

Located in the old Cadbury Chocolate factory in a hidden corner of The Rocks, Kansas City Shuffle (KCS) is a new addition brought by Ben Sweeten and Chef Kayne (ex-Proud Mary) serving American diner-style favourites with a twist as well as superfood dishes.

  

Two "Little City" takeaway windows are built to cater your need from drool-worthy pastries and donuts to their healthy menu options if you don't have time to sit down. Coffee is by Single Origin Coffee and they cater all your coffee styles, black, white, filter, cold drip, magic, as well as barista clairvoyant reading. 

The inside is modern style and not too spacious with a mix of recycled oak and greenery. I'd love to sit in their moon-shaped booth but it was unfortunately occupied when we went there.. So we opted to sit outside and soak up the sun as the weather was so beautiful!

Giving in to temptation sometimes can also leave you feeling dissatisfied and guilty, but I assure you this won't happen once you see an array of donuts (by Simon Say Donuts) on their display window!

Fried chicken and waffles are a beautiful combo.. But I believe it goes the same for meat by looking at this KCS Style Beef Brisket and Waffles! It had golden brown colour, perfectly crisp on the outside and light as a feather on the inside. The brisket had a nice smoky flavour but on the other hand was unfortunately quite chewy for my liking. Served with poached eggs, the smoked chili butter added a kick with its rich, buttery and just a hint of chili heat.

A good pancake is a thing of beauty! KCS made their Pancake so light, pillowy-soft in the middle and fluffy that it melted in your mouth. Paired with rich and soft cream cheese parfait, tangy and silky lemon curd and a bit crunch from the smoked almonds, this pretty looking dish is splendid and perfectly intriguing!
